Joey Johnson

Hope Chapel members, Joe & Karen Johnson, learned tonight that their son, Joey, age 28, passed away in his sleep on the mainland. Although we don't have any further information at this time, I thought maybe as the church heard the news, they would want to reach out to the Johnson family with prayers and words of love and comfort. Please pray for the Johnson ohana during this very difficult time.

Dear Joe and Karen and family,

We are so very, very sorry for the tragedy that is the loss of your young son. We hurt with you both, but cannot imagine the devastation you are going through. We pray the the LORD of all mercy will find a way to lie you down in green pastures, and lead you beside still waters. If there is anything that we can do for you, we would count it an honor and a privilege.

With love and tears,

We are here for you in any way that you need. We will continue to lift you up in our prayers.

Joe , Karen, Jamie , Joane and family,
I am so broken hearted about you losing your son and brother. There really is not words to express the feelings that I have... Your Joey was an awesome guy. He had a great sense of humor.. very charming... very gifted.. but the thing that I loved the most about Joey is that when you were talking to him.. he made you feel special..He was very caring ,and he really engaged in the conversation... At 28 years old.... he did accomplish so much in his short little life..he really went for it... I know how proud you were of him.. May God be your strength at this time. Your family is so loving to us. I want so much to be there for you at this time. I love you so much Johnsons!!!!

Joe, Karen and Family:

We were saddened to hear of the sudden loss of Joey. He will forever remain in our hearts and prayers.

There are no words to describe your loss... Just know he is in a better place and watching us all from above.

I have so many fond memories of Joey. Playing the guitar, singing songs, surfing, or just hanging out talking. All of those memories (and may others) will be treasured for ever. Joey was an outstanding guy and one that was loved by so many. Anyone who knew him was blessed and touched in one way or another.

He will be missed and my thought and prayers are with you and your family during this time of such great loss.

Love,
Brian and Amy Adams

Dear Johnson Family,
I am so sorry to hear about your beautiful son Joey. You have all been such a special family, such good role models, and so blessed. I hate that this happened. Life just doesn't make sense. You have all given so much to the body of Christ at Hope Chapel. I pray that you would be comforted during this horrible, wretched time. You know that so many of us are praying for you. We all love you.

Dear Johnson Family - the terrible news made it's way to me this morning. I am deeply saddened to hear of Joseph's passing. He was very special to me. We had wonderful times at UMVD. Since having kids and being a stay-at-home mom in the South Bay, I think about him everyday as I pass by his old residence in Hermosa Beach. Eventhough, I hadn't seen him for some time, I missed his energy, sweet spirit, unparalleled kindness and respect for life. He will always be an unforgettable presence in my life and I am so lucky to have had him as a friend. I am praying for you.

Dear Joe and Karen:
The last time I saw Joey we had such a nice conversation, I hugged him and told him I loved him. Jay saw him last week and asked God to bless him and give him a safe trip home. God answered that prayer and we know that Joey is home, safe in his Father's arms. God entrusted Joey to you both because He knew you were the perfect parents for him. You can be very proud of your son and the man he became. Please know that our family will keep you all in our prayers and that we will always carry Joey in our hearts.

With love,
Jay and Michelle Moore
